Just a week ago, Hashem, in His great kindness, bentched us with our first son. Tonight, on his Vach Nacht, I’m releasing a song I wrote in his honor. As we say Shema, I daven that he will always have the “Fligelech” (“Wings”) to rise above every challenge, to reach the greatest heights in Torah, mitzvos, and avodas Hashem, and to fulfill the unique purpose Hashem has destined for him. May the tefillos of this night guide him and carry him through every stage of his life.

Translation:
Welcome, my dear child,
A tear runs from my eye,
I can’t believe that in my hands I’m holding you now.

I see your shining face, you glow and you light up,
Our hearts are opened wide,
Filled with joy that we have reached this day.

You now come beneath our wings,
Where you will only soar,
We will watch how beautifully you bloom,
Trying with all our heart and soul to raise you.
Spread your little wings, my child,
Wherever you wish to strive,
Our heart and soul we will give to you,
Take them, my child, and begin your life.
