忘川 (Wang Chuan) in this line refers to 忘川河 Wang Chuan River from Chinese mythology. The Wang Chuan River is at the end of the Huang Quan Road (Yellow Springs Road) and has a bridge over it called 奈何桥. When crossing the bridge, souls have to drink Meng Po Soup from Meng Po 孟婆 (Goddess of Forgetfulness). The soup wipes the memory of the soul so they can reincarnate into the next life without the burdens of the previous life.
