Description
Song # 1017.1 from Our Gospel In Song Collection by Col Johnston. The Book of James is a letter written to God’s people scattered around the world. The letter emphasizes the importance of actions along with faith, within the Christian religion.
Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise (James 5:13). Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the Church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord (James 5:14). And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well, the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven (James 5:15). Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (James 5:16). If one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back (James 5:19), remember this – whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins (James 5:20).
Thought for today: prayer acknowledges our need for God
Thought for the future: no matter where you turn in life, you can always turn to God. Where will you spend your eternity?
