Description
If you’re among the many who love the dramatic and romantic “Warsaw Concerto” but have never seen the 1941 film “Dangerous Moonlight” in which it originated, find yourself a copy or keep an eye on Turner Classic Movies for their next showing. British “Light Music” composer Richard Addinsell wrote the score and featured pieces of the concerto throughout the film.
Freddy Martin’s danceable 1942 arrangement of the famous work was the most successful “pop” version of the decade, though this later, more low-key Thornhill treatment also sold a few copies.
Transferred and digitally processed from LP, originally issued on 78rpm: Columbia 37940 - Warsaw Concerto (Addinsell) by Claude Thornhill & his Orchestra, recorded August 1947 .
