步入60年代的马来亚（1963年加入东马两州及新加坡过后退出），可说是百业蓬勃，欣欣向荣之景，当年马新两地的唱片工业已站稳基础，在推广时代曲方面也扮演了举足轻重的角色。樱花、凌云、樱樱、林竹君、黛玲、梅子、芷玲、白蒂娜、蔡城、黄清元、陈洁、凌霄、黄鹂、梨川、朱江是60年代末，是很后期的。

Lara Tan aka Ying-Ying was among the top few female Mandarin pop singers during the 60s。 Lara's Chinese name is Ying-Ying (樱樱) and it is common practice that the singers use a Chinese name and add an English nickname。 Lara Tan was a contemporary of Rita Chao (凌云) and Sakura Teng (樱花)。 She was backed by another popular Singaporean pop / rock band, The Trailers 特丽乐队 that included tracks like Run For Your Life (痴情的少女) , Visions (难忘的情意) , Puppet On A String ( 多棈郎) and Sugar Town (一个他) - 收录在1967年出版的【痴情的少女】专辑。 She was Cosdel's answer to EMI's Lam Leng (南玲)， Rita Chao (凌云) and Sakura (樱花).
