Gotta’ love those white go-go boots!
Here is the closing song to the, “The Batman Is Coming”, promo episode. Bobby Goldsboro and Mitch Ryder, with his Detroit Wheels, can be seen at the autograph table after just performing “Jenny Take A Ride” and their cover of “I Feel Good”.
The kids had a lot of energy here at the end of the show. Based on the dancers shown here today and on the Feb. 5th (with The Raiders) and Feb 12th episodes, I think this is the first of 3 or 4 episodes that were taped on the same day.
Bandstand Regulars I spotted dancing today are Steve Schreiner, Frank Vanderpuil, Sue Hipple, Anita Branch and Debbie Sewell.
When a guest is “coming”, usually on an episode taped later that day, the producers will often play their latest song, as is the case here – but this song was an easy pick as The Raiders were still the house band on Dick Clark’s “Where the Action Is” and the song is fast becoming the Raiders first big hit. “Just Like Me” moved up the charts to #16 today and will peak at #11 next week.
Thank you so much for watching! I may have some really great, new “stuff” coming soon. Stay tuned.
