Description

Using the body as a musical instrument is the essential proposal of Barbatuques. Officially founded in 1997, based on research and creations by Fernando Barba, the São Paulo music group has developed along its path a unique approach to body music through its compositions, techniques, sound exploration and creative procedures. Their innovative way of making music and the numerous possibilities they have developed to extract body sounds have made the group recognized and active in both the artistic and educational fields, and have resulted in the creation of musical shows, albums, trainings and workshops that have already been brought to the table. more than 25 countries around the world, where they had contact with other manifestations of body music, traditional and contemporary. He has partnered with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Hermerto Pascoal, Naná Vasconcelos, Camille, Keith Terry, One Giant Leap and Badi Assad.
