Description
Barry White's 1977 album, "Barry White Sings For Someone You Love" returned him to the pinnacle of the R&B chart, something he had not done since 1975. It was driven by the success of "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me" which went #1 R&B in the summer of 1977 and then "Playing Your Game, Baby" issued in the fall of 1977.
"Playing Your Game, Baby" peaked at #8 R&B but missed the Hot100 completely peaking at #101. His next notable single was "Your Sweetness Is My Weakness" a #2 R&B hit in 1978. He continued to have success on the R&B charts between 1979 and 1992. In 1994 he topped the R&B chart one more time with "Practice What You Preach".
Barry appeared on the Quincy Jones song "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)" with El Debarge, James Ingram and Al B Sure a #1 R&B hit in 1990.
