Camper van Beethoven is an alt.rock band from Redlands/Santa Cruz, California, and were popular in the late 80s/early 90s. Their cover of Status Quo's Pictures of Matchstick Men was #1 on Billboard's "Modern Rock" charts for 3 weeks from Oct. 21 - Nov. 4, 1989.

They reformed (after a brief hiatus during which time singer Dave Lowry formed Cracker) and toured during the mid-2000s, and may even still be touring when they want to.

Incidentally, Jonathan Segel was especially interested in us editing a video of their performance of Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive -- which I've been meaning to get back to editing but other things keep coming my way and it gets pushed to the back burner.
