“In My Room was an accident in the most beautiful way. It’s this story of heartbreak, someone you love leaving you for something better, and you’re just left there picking up the pieces trying to figure out what went wrong,” Peña stated. “When it came out, I honestly didn’t know if it was any good, I had worked on it, producing, recording parts, for hours and hours on end so by the time it was coming out I was numb to it. Looking back, that song changed my life and I love it for what it is. Musically it’s one of my favorites I’ve done, and I got to play my great grandma’s lap steel on it. Lyrically it’s a piece of a moment that never existed yet resonates more than it should.””
