Description
The heat of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala is still continuing after three days, especially for one of the most favorite performances in the gala. The performance featured a solo by pop singer Tan Weiwei, who performed with the folk art band, Huayin Laoqiang. The performance showcased Laoqiang, a folk art form that originated in Huayin of the northwestern Shaanxi Province in the 18th century. It features high pitch singing, accompanied by a band of traditional Chinese instruments in dynamic rhythms and beats. It has been listed among China's intangible cultural heritages and often described as the oldest Chinese version of rock music.
