In a concert filled with tired military tapdancing, this old number was one of the few standouts of the night. Not simply because it is widely known, even outside of this small corner of the internet, having been covered in many countries. But because it is a truly pretty song; a piece of the 20th Century in a show of mostly very modern music.

It's also a pleasure to hear from 최설희 instead of 김옥주. Ok Ju's frankly insane register would not work for this song at all. Sol Hui is relatively well known among Russian diplomats, having repeatedly impressed audiences with her flawless renditions of Anti-Ukraine Patriotic Music in their original language. Arguably, she is at her best when singing in Russian, but this classic in her mother tongue suits her very well.
