Watch out ladies -- if you want to date Ed Sheeran you better not do him wrong or else he's gonna write a song about you! Ed has gone all Taylor Swift on us with his new song "Don't," and he's not afraid to talk about it, and you know what...we're pretty excited about it. During a recent interview with Billboard, Ed went on the record to explain the story in the song. He said QUOTE "I was seeing someone for a bit of time, and then they ended up physically involved with one of my friends in the same hotel that we were staying in, while I was downstairs. And I feel like: Treat people how you want to be treated." Say what? Ed added that the story is 100-percent true and he said he could've gotten even nastier in the lyrics. He said "there was more shit I didn't put in," which is kind of hard to believe because the lyrics in the song are pretty candid -- one line says this -- "I never saw him as a threat, 'til you disappeared with him to have sex." Obviously the next question on everyone's minds is who is this song about? And the speculation is already at an all-time high that the song is about Ed's former romance with Ellie Goulding, which possibly came to an end after a tryst with One Direction member Niall Horan. Ed went on the record at the MTV EMAs to say that yes, he'd been seeing Ellie but that it was over. And many people are buzzing that this incident might have happened at the MTV VMAs in August when both Niall and Ed were seen flirting with the blonde singer. But guys, Niall Horan hit twitter to address this situation and say "So many lazy and shit rumours flying around! Get a grip!" That said, it seems like there might be more to this story, but if Ed Sheeran has taken any notes from his friend Taylor Swift, then maybe we'll be getting some hints as to what this is all about when his album is released and his liner notes are out -- maybe he'll be leaving us some secret codes like Swifty does!
