“It’s a February deep freeze out here in Dartmouth with everyone moving slowly and cautiously but I was fortunate to get into the studio last week with my good friend, Erin Costelo to record a session for the Window Inn. Erin is an exceptional singer, songwriter and producer and we’ve worked together here and there over the years. She played on my album The Park Avenue Sobriety Test and we’ve shared the stage many times since then. We recorded a version of her lovely song, Turn It On, from her album, Down Below the Status Quo, which she recorded several years back at The New Scotland Yard.
We tracked this version to an old drum machine while she played the Rhodes and sang and I played guitar. We then did two more takes: one with her at the piano singing harmony while I played drums and another where she sang another harmony vocal while I played bass. The video footage cuts between these three takes.”
