“I created this piece with so many thoughts in mind—at first when asked to showcase, I ran through ideas that I thought would be “cool” based on audience satisfaction, what’s trending, what I thought Vegas needed, ideas with a push factor, and ideas that I needed to check off a list. all logic and no heart. But one night, a song shifted everything. Kool Aid by Royel Otis played, and the lyrics hit me: “You’re far more cooler than your body could’ve known.” It made me reflect on my journey with my body, movement, and the way we limit ourselves based on how we feel in our skin.

We are more than that, we’re our spirit! Our smiles! So I wanted this piece to be about feeling good—about uninhibited joy, radical confidence, and remembering why we dance in the first place. I chose dancers for their smiles first, dancers who embodied fearlessness and dancers who I wanted to inspire, focusing on how they felt rather than just how it looked.

Thank you to every dancer who brought this to life—you made it special. Your light shined, and the audience felt it because you felt it first and true, the joy. Grateful for this moment and the people surrounding it. I didn’t know how much this piece would mean to me and the impact it would have made. It’s amazing how people will show up for themselves and each other when they feel supported.
