To me, Rolling Strong is the quintessential “modern” Mxpx song. Chris and I start it out by letting the guitars do their feedback thing, Mike coming in a bass riff, and Yuri bringing it all together with a vengeance.

When we were working on the song at practice, Mike wasn’t happy with the guitar solo section we had in the song. So, he asked to see my guitar to try and figure something else out. I remember sitting on the couch and thinking, “ugh, here he goes again,” but in about ten minutes, what he came up with became my favorite part of the song.

Rolling Strong is always a blast to play live, and I get super pumped when I see it coming up next on the setlist. So pumped that the first time we played it live, I played it so hard that I broke my strap lock off my strap and nearly dropped my guitar off the stage!
