Once’t more from the Ozark Wild: back in winter 2016, I decided I was going to shelve banjo and drums and give Grandpa Music an honest try, I bought a beater Stella parlor guitar and spent a lot of the next year in Little Rock at my granny’s side, teaching myself a few chords and writing some early material that went on to become the Okay Crawdad band in New Orleans (including this banger of a country crooner from queen Connie Smith). Since sweat and puddle water were sure to soak it, I never got a nice guitar while playing and recording in Louisiana, but it’s Covid world order and I live in the mountains again so it’s time for an upgrade.
