"It’s just supposed to be about womanhood and sisterhood. We aren’t crazy close, but she was really great at being there and mentoring the two times we did get to meet. She helped me with a lot of things I’m struggling with like being so young and doing this because she obviously has so much experience. But I feel like the “Sista” in the song is a lot of people. I feel like it’s my mom, my actual sister. It’s all of the people who have ever given me advice and I feel like it’s just celebrating women."
