Description
This recording was released on a single in December 1957 with "Could This Be Magic?" on the other side, but neither side charted nationally in Billboard. However, "Oh Julie" did reach the Top 10 locally in Buffalo, New York and also in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in February 1958. In January 1958, the song was a national hit for The Crescendos charting at #5 on the Hot 100 (#4 R&B).
Original Billboard review: "A slow, blues styled ballad, a late cover of the Crescendos. Williams chants a dedicated lead and side has the current attributes of girl's name for title plus ethereal femme voices floating through the backing. Has spin appeal." Billboard rating: 76 out of 100.
