Anne Murray hosted this special featuring an amazing 1971 performance by The Staple Singers on CBC. The band, which revolved around Mavis' voice and Pops' songs and guitar, had become the musical voices of the civil rights movement in the U.S. Watch the first episode of From the Vaults, "Land of Opportunities."
