Gregory Porter has accomplished the rare and wonderful feat of releasing a debut album that contains not a single throwaway tune on it. His seminal release, "Water", was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Jazz Vocal category for 2010. My only complaint about the album is that it doesn't name who the accompanying musicians are. Whoever they are, one thing is certain - they are a stellar group and he rises to the level of performance that they set - or vice-versa. At the time of this writing, I have no idea who the bass player is or who the cat is playing that searing alto sax solo. Not to mention the trombone player, pianist or drummer. All I can say is that these cats are swingin' hard!

**UPDATE**
Since I uploaded this clip, I have since discovered that the alto sax player on this particular tune is Yoske Sato. I'm still unaware who the other players are but I'm still trying to find out. If anyone knows, would you please be so kind as to tell me who they are.
