Description
The latest track for my Whiskey Tango Foxtrot album, a techno remix of the traditional Finnish song, Säkkijärven Polkka. This track was partially inspired by recently getting into Girls Und Panzer as well as my long-standing interest in history, particularly the era from WWI-WWII.
Fun fact: During the Continuation War, the Finns discovered that the Soviets had left numerous radio-detonated mines around the city of Vilpuri after they retreated, and the Finnish army radio experts determined that they could jam the mines by playing the Säkkijärven Polkka 24/7 on the same radio frequency used by the mines until their ordnance disposal teams could clear them all out. Therefore, this song isn't just polka, but military-grade polka.
