The Canopy Sessions is a live concert series in the tropical Bolz Conservatory at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI. We set out to create an accompanying music video series where each artist performing at the Canopy Sessions is invited to play their own unique take on a favorite cover song (thus, the Canopy Covers).

Led by singer Ana Paula Johnson, a native of Rio de Janiero, Samba Novistas offers up their own spirited take on "Tristeza Pé no Chão", the 1973 hit from Brazil's own Clara Nunes, often referred to as the "Queen of Samba".
