I have never been more afraid in my life.

Jonathan and I captured this short two-minute video at Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach in Iceland, one of the most breathtaking but DEADLIEST beaches in the world. What started as a mesmerizing experience in Iceland’s raw beauty quickly turned into a nightmare.

In the most violent storm and raging surf I have ever encountered, I was sucked into the churning North Atlantic off the basalt boulders—completely drenched, powerless, and fighting against forces far greater than me.

The ferocious waves were relentless. The pull of the ocean was terrifying. In that moment, I realized just how small I was compared to nature’s fury.

I was lucky. I made it back to shore, shaken but safe. Had it been different, this story could have ended in tragedy.

Let this be a reminder: Never underestimate the power of the sea.
