World Heart Beat Music Academy is pleased to share a film of activities which took place as part of Ebb & Flow – a project funded by Tideway’s Wandsworth Community Investment Fund. We are so grateful to Tideway for supporting this project which enabled World Heart Beat young musicians to engage with residents/communities in Nine Elms to celebrate the local area, the Thames and people’s relationship with the river through music.
It provided creative opportunities for young people from age 8 up to 23 to develop their communication, song-writing and performance skills through participating in a range of activities inspired by the river. Activities included recording river soundscapes, filming, music activities on the Thames, interviews with Tideway workers and local residents. Taking inspiration from field recordings and what they learned and heard from the people they met, 4 original songs were written, including Go With The Flow – the sound track to this film.
